Tin mining in Cornwall had been going for over 2,500 years until South Crofty, the last remaining mine, ceased operating in 1998.

The South Crofty Collection has been operating since 1988, designing and hand making beautiful jewellery from local tin. To keep the jewellery business going when South Crofty closed, some of the last reserves were extracted and stockpiled for the Collection.

Entirely made by hand from smelting, casting and fettling, the designs of these unique pieces of jewellery are inspired by Cornish traditions and landscapes, and buying a piece of South Crofty handmade jewellery is buying a piece of Cornish and British heritage.
