Stamford Notebooks are part of Spiegl Press, a small family run printing and bookbinding business established in the 1950s by the parents of the current owner and master binder, Hugo Spiegl.

All Stamford Notebooks are handbound by true craftsmen. Their aim is to bind the best notebooks and journals for writing and drawing using the best handwriting paper, leathers and bookbinding cloths available.

Their leather is bovine vegetable tanned shoulder which is hand cut and dyed in Stamford and their paper is an off-white 100gsm paper, milled in Cumbria at one of the few remaining paper mills in the UK.

Their bindery in Stamford, Lincolnshire combines traditional bookbinding equipment with more up to date production machinery to carry out all aspects of production, including the printing of paper, folding, sewing, trimming and case making and casing in.
