The mixed pulp fibres are churned with water in vat 1 to form the paper stock.

The water is drawn directly from an ancient chalk bore hole at the rear of the mill.

The ratio of fibre to water in the stick is critical as it is the most important factor in the weight of the finished paper.

The stock for our certificates is approximately 1% fibre, 99% water, which gives a paper weight of 125gsm, which is very sturdy yet still pliable enough to fold without creasing.
